Kiwifruit is probably one of the most famous edible berries in the world. Its botanical name is Actinidia of the Actinidiaceae family.
The early origin of this tasty fruit dates back to 700 years ago in Southern China. At the time, the kiwifruit was considered a luxury fruit and used as a decorative ornament.
The current name of the fruit was born in New Zealand due to the resemblance to the curious animal mascot of the oceanic country.
At the end of the Twentieth century, the kiwifruit arrived in Europe and then in Italy. Today our country is among the largest producers and exporters in the world.
Kiwifruits production area
We have our production of Italian kiwifruits in the North-West, in Piedmont. We also count on long-standing partnerships with several farmers in other areas dedicated to producing kiwifruits, such as Latina in central Italy.
This way, we can ensure the most suitable product for each destination, in the necessary volume and with the most efficient and most suitable logistic solutions.
By embarking on kiwifruits overseas for more than twenty years, we have acquired a profound knowledge and experience of the needs and peculiarities of the various markets. In the last years, we have also developed a significant partnership in Greece. Thanks to it, we can even supply the best quality fruits from this land. There, we select and pack the best kiwifruits, organizing shipments under the constant control of our organization. We are on the territory in every step, from harvesting to loading.
We can ensure the best kiwifruits from the southern hemisphere thanks to our close business relationships with renowned partners in Chile. In this way, we can cover the kiwifruit requests of our customers almost all year round.
Varieties
The varieties of Kiwifruits we treat are mainly two: the Hayward with green pulp (Actinidia Deliciosa), both conventional and organic, and the Soreli, different from the first for its yellow pulp (Actinidia Chinensis).
Lately, we have been developing some projects to be able to propose, over a few years, other varieties, including the precious red-fleshed kiwifruits.
