When we talk about citrus fruits, we refer to products attributable to the Citrus category, large evergreen and shrubs that give fruits with a slightly sour taste (due to the high presence of citric acid) and juicy pulp.
The citrus fruits’ origin date back to India and the Far East, and history teaches us that the first citrus fruit to arrive in Europe was the citron. It was already known and esteemed in Roman times with the name Persian apple due to the characteristic of the shape and precisely of Asian origin.
Nowadays, citrus fruits are cultivated in all the countries with subtropical and temperate climates. China is the world production leader, while in Europe, Spain is the first producer, an essential territory for Novafruit.
Our citrus fruits production
Novafruit presents itself as a reliable partner for the supply of citrus fruits. We mainly export to Spain with lemons, oranges, mandarins, clementines and grapefruits in full container loads with a single item and mixed container loads.
Over the years, we have developed the best techniques to treat the goods during the packaging phase to ensure optimal preservation of the fruit, even for long trips.
By loading from the most suited areas of the territory, we can ensure citrus fruits with optimal qualitative and organoleptic features: from the correct acidity according to the different varieties to the juiciness passing through the intense flavours.
